Arezoo Islami is a philosopher of science and a philosopher of mathematics, interested in studying the historical construction of knowledge in mathematics and physics and the philosophical consequences of their dynamic relationship. She is also interested in investigating the contemporary notion(s) of time according to our best theories of physics.
Arezoo is an assistant professor of philosophy at San Francisco State University. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University where she also received her PhD advised by professor Thomas Ryckman on the question of applicability of mathematics. She has an MA in philosophy from Texas Tech University and an M.Sc in philosophy of science from Sharif University of Technology. Her B.Sc is in pure mathematics.
